Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Ohiovalleybeef@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At Ohio Valley Beef, we grass feed our cows with a grain finish. That allows our beef to have flavorful marbling without the game taste you have with grass finished beef.

There is a non refundable down payment of $1,000 when placing your order. Final cost is per pound hanging weight at processing. Hanging weight is the weight of the cow after the head, hooves, and organs are removed. Please contact us for more information on pricing.

A happy cow creates happy beef, so we do not use feed lots. We do want to control what they consume once they switch to grain before processing, so they are placed in large mowed pastures to ensure they are not eating grass as well.

Once processing starts, and final payment is made, our team will reach out to your for delivery details within the next 10 days.

Purchasing a whole beef, we will call you for the specific cuts to fit your needs. You will also select thickness and how it is packaged (2-4 steaks per package, ground beef in 1-2-3 pound packaging).

Purchasing a half beef, you will get a standard cut list because you are sharing it. We will still call you and the other party to see if an agreement can be made.

You will need a deep chest freezer or a stand up freezer. This will not fit in your standard fridge freezer space. A half cow will require 10-14 cubic feet of space, and a whole cow will require 16-20 cubic feet, depending on the size of the cow at processing.
